The warp is made from millspun Matka silk, while the weft is handspun Bulkul Tassar silk. Bulkul Tassar is made from the peduncles of Antheraea paphia tassar cocoons. Unlike cultivated mulberry silk, tassar silk comes from wild silk moths whose cocoons produce naturally varied shades of cream, gold, brown, and nut tones.
