The Eggbutt sides prevent pinching of the lips and gives a slightly more solid feel against the side of the face to assist with turning aids. The eggbutt 'cheeks' also prevent the bit being pulled through the mouth. The Happy Tongue Snaffle is designed with a medium port to create space for the tongue. This relieves tongue pressure and allows the horse to relax.
