A mouse metabolises on a faster clock than a human, and a controlled diet in a cage is not a free-living human diet so even the week-numbers above should be read as the shape of a gradual response, not a promise that a human would see anything on the same calendar
I made the mistake, just as my skin was getting better and settling, of eating 2 hamburgers over 2 days and having an omelette...basically resuming my old diet
Blood chemistry panels showed no hepatotoxicity (ALT, AST, bilirubin all within normal limits), no nephrotoxicity (creatinine, BUN unchanged), and no hematologic changes
Some sources recommend refrigeration, while others suggest room temperature storage is adequate for reasonable periods
I will continue using it
They work well but differ in how they might suit patients
