The user prevalence of newer GLP-1RA weight loss drugs increased steadily in the most recent years, first driven by increased use of liraglutide (Saxenda ) starting in late 2020 and peaking in late 2022, and afterwards driven by a rapid increase in semaglutide (Wegovy ) use, reaching a similar number of users than semaglutide (Ozempic ) during 2023 (Figure 1 Panel A)
